Thanks for the lake view. We will (do) own a place just east of you, between Cleveland and North Bay. Planning on geting there by Mother's Day. I watched all winter and like this view better than in Jan. Keep it up!!

HELLO

WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO PUT YOUR DOCK BACK IN THE WATER? IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO SEE THE PROCESS. GRANNY FROM FLORIDA.

Dock

I wanted to start putting it in a few weeks ago when it was warm but I'm glad I didn't. The water is up about a foot and rising. We'll see what this weekend looks like.

SPRING

THIS HAS WITHOUT A DOUBT BEEN SO FUN WATCHING THE ICE BREAK UP. I JUST WISH WE COULD SEE THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE LAKE, ALSO. SOME DAYS I HAVE A HARD TIME TO GET THE SITE. I HAVE TO TRY DIFFERENT WAYS OF BRINGING IT UP. IT'S MY FAVORITE SITE IN THE MORNING. ENJOY YOUR HOME BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY OF US THAT WOULD LOVE TO LIVE RIGHT THERE WHERE YOU LIVE. THANKS FOR TAKING TIME TO RUN THIS CAM. GRANNY

south side

I have a home on the south east side.  A few of the windy days pushed a lot of ice up on my shoreline.  I've got a huge 6 foot high ice barrier right where I put my dock and hoist.  Ugh!
Can't wait to get on the water.
Lou

ice pictures

Thank you Lou for the pictures of the ice along your shoreline.  We are also on the south east shore.  This web cam is wonderful!  Wish we also had one on the south shore.

ICE

They were taken on March 26, 2011. Lou tells us:

Hi, these are from 10 days ago. It's a bit worse now. :-)

The trees are about 5 feet from the water and you can see the ice is pushed well past them. The house is safe, it's up a hill a bit.

Since this happened early, it formed a barrier that will help keep the ice back. It just might be a while before I can put my dock in!

Thanks,
Lou

ICE PICTURES.

I JUST HAD TO COPY THOSE PICTURES. I'M GOING TO FRAME THEM SO I CAN HAVE A PIECE OF HOME RIGHT HERE IN FLORIDA. IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE MY NAME IS LOU ALSO. GRANNY LOU

Spring

Thanks Granny! Love to hear from you. Yes - sometimes I have trouble getting to the site myself. Someday when I get time I will try to fix the issue. One thing you can try is doing a Google search for "Oneida Lake webcam" but don't click on the main link. Instead, click on the link that says "cached" If the camera itself is working, the page that Google gives you will be constantly refreshing with the latest image. I do not think you can bookmark the cached page so you might have to do the search every time. Sorry about the hassle and I hope the workaround works for now.

Spring!

South Shore Nautical will be opening up soon for all the Spring boaters. Hello, everyone from Delray Beach south Florida. Hope it is starting to warm up there. See ya soon. Stan & Fawn Zielasko

Thanks

I want to say thanks for having this webcam available. My father and I (from PA and Drive 9) come up frequently for fishing. It is nice to be able to view your webcam before our trip to see what the ice looks like for ice fishing and also what the current conditions of the lake are during the boating season. Maybe see you on the lake. Thanks again.

flooding

Hi, I have a camp on the other side of the lake from this web cam and last weekend was rough.  We had some water in the basement and it was very, very wet in a lot of place.  Several roads had flooding issues.  The more mild weather this week helped a lot I'm sure.
The lake water level is much higher than a year ago.  I'm sure they are trying to limit the impact down stream and monitoring the gates closely.  Hopefully this will be a good thing to start the year.

Hey stranger..how's

Hey stranger..how's everything going? Just wanted to drop a line to say hello.

Hello

Life is Good.

IT LOOKS LIKE THE SNOW IS

IT LOOKS LIKE THE SNOW IS MELTING ON THE LAKE TODAY. NATURE IS WONDERFUL. DO YOU GET MUCH ICE BUILDUP WHEN THE ICE BREAKS UP?

GRANNY FROM FLORIDA.

Ice Buildup

I've only seen it build up twice here but nothing too damaging. Some years it just calmly melts away. We'll have to wait and see what this year brings.

~~ Bird on the rail~~~

~~ I see your bird is still sitting on the rail for the last 2 days...... Is he stuffed with feathers ??? LOL

~~ Bird on the rail~~~

Hey - How have you been? Doing any ice-sailing? What bird?

Just bought a home on the north shore and can't wait for winter to be over - thanks for the camera view so we can see the lake and dream we were there!

Welcome to the North Shore

Congratulations and thanks for visiting the site. Winter is just getting started. Still plenty of snowmobiling and ice fishing left!

THANKS FOR LETTING US COME TO YOUR HOUSE EVERYDAY

I ENJOY YOUR SITE AND THE CAM SO MUCH. I'VE WATCHED THAT ICE GROW EVERYDAY FOR A MONTH OR SO. I HOPE IT DOESN'T RUIN YOUR ROOF. YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS YOUNG US KIDS WOULD KNOCK THE ICE DOWN AND MOM WOULD COOK UP A BATCH OF ICE CREAM. WE'D GO DOWN INTO THE CELLER AND CRANK AWAY UNTIL IT WAS READY TO EAT.THE ICE WAS PUT AROUND THE SIDE TO MAKE IT FREEZE. YUM, YUM, YUM. LIVING IN FLORIDA NOW. NOT AS  MUCH FUN. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALLOWING US TO VISIT YOUR HOUSE., WHEN I HAVE DAYS THAT THE SITE WON'T COME UP I HAVE A HISSY FIT. LOLLOYAL FAN. I'VE SENT THIS SITE TO MANY FRIENDS AROUND THE COUNTRY.

Click on 2008 or 2009.

Camera Direction

Hey--can't remember--is the view looking towards the city or away from it?

Sled tracks

I hope that was your sled.  :-)

People riding the lake a lot?

Sled tracks

Yes, that was me. I'm not a big fan of riding the lake but I needed to take a test run after some minor maintenance and the trail is still a little thin. There usually isn't much traffic on this part of the lake but there was a wide path from Constantia to Borio's. I don't know if it's completely safe yet or not but there are a lot of ice fishermen out there. Thanks for visiting the site and see you on the trails.

Camera Direction

The camera is near Cleveland, NY looking Southwest toward Syracuse, NY.
