AFTER LOOKING AT THE LAKE

AFTER LOOKING AT THE LAKE THIS MORNING, THE SONG THAT CAME INTO MY HEAD WAS---"OH WHAT A BEATIFUL MORNING". THE LAKE DOES THAT TO A PERSON.

THANKS AGAIN FOR SHARING.

GRANNY LOU

Store Inquiry

First and foremost, thank you for sharing your webcam of the lake. Second, could you tell me if that Vella's Northshore Market is accessable by boat in the back. Eight of us are booked into Angler's Bay this September, a few lanes down from you, and the thought of picking up a daily paper and incidentals on the way in from fishing appeals to us. Any information would be appreciated.

Vellas

Vella's isnt accessible by boat directly behind the store... as they dont have a dock. However you can very easily park at Apps Landing Pier which is about 1/4 mile walk at the most to Vella's.

Vella's

I know you can get there by snowmoble in the wintertime but I don't think they have boat access. I will check to be sure. Here is a link to their weekly advertisement. The Cleveland store is on the second to last page. Click Here Vellasmarket.com

Store Inquiry

Thank you for your response and the information.  I e-mailed Vella's directly and also asked about depth and shoreline.  A dock may not be required.  Thank you again and have a nice Summer.

THE LAKE LOOKS A LITTLE WAVEY TODAY. I STILL WOULD LOVE TO SIT OUT ON THAT DOCK AND JUST ENJOY. I HOPE NO ONE ON THE LAKE EVER TAKES THE LAKE FOR GRANTED. I KNOW IT CAN BECOME QUITE WILD AT TIMES. GOOD MORNING, BEAUTIFUL DAY IN FLORIDA. SUN SHINNING. THE BAD THING HERE IS THE DRY WEATHER. APRIL IS THE MONTH FOR BRUSH FIRES. SMOKERS LOVE TO THROW THEIR SMOKES OUT OF THE CAR WINDOWS THEN BINGO FIRE. AREAS AND AREAS BURN. SAD BUT TRUE. I'M GLAD TO SEE THE SUN SHINNING ON THE LAKE THIS MORNING. YESTERDAY IT LOOKED LIKE THE CAM WAS DOWN. WISH I WAS UP THERE FOR THE SUMMER. I GUESS THOSE DAYS ARE GONE.
THANKS FOR SHARING THE CAM.

THE SECOND LOU, GRANNY LOU

Easter

Hey stranger! I was worried about you; it's been almost a month since you posted a comment. Happy Easter to you, too.

HELLO AGAIN BACK AT YOU

I HATE TO COMMENT EVERY DAY. IT MAKES ME LOOK LIKE I'M TAKING OVER YOUR COMMENT CENTER. I DO KNOW MANY OF MY FRIENDS FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY LOOK IN ON THE LAKE.WE ALL ENJOY THE DAILY CHANGES. I SEE YOUR CANOE HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE LAWN. SEE I REALLY DO PEEK. I SHOULD HAVE PEEKED YESTERDAY DURING THE DAY MAYBE I'D HAVE SEEN YOU OUT THERE PADDLING. I'VE YET TO SEE A BOAT ON THE LAKE. TAKE CARE AND ENJOY YOUR DAY. GRANNY

Canoe

The wind actually moved the canoe. We had some strong gusts Sunday night.

Thank You

Hey just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate you having this feed of the lake! I work in a clammy office all day so I am constantly checking out this website. My family has a camp right on Sylvan Beach so I love seeing a lake that isn't iced over! Thanks again!

DOCK MAYBE

IS THAT YOUR DOCK DOWN BY THE BEACH AREA? IF SO IT'LL BE FUN TO SEE THE ACTION OUT ON THE WATER WHEN BOATS DOCK AT YOUR PLACE. HOW FAR OUT CAN YOU WALK AND STILL STAND IN THE WATER? YOUR PLACE IS THE PERFECT SPOT. JUST LOVE IT. IT'S BEEN FUN COMING EVERYDAY AND CHECKING OUT THE LAKE.

THANKS AGAIN FOR SHARING.

GRANNY

Dock

Thanks! Just the first 4 sections so far. I can still stand at about 110 feet out.

Water Level

I hear the water level is very low. North shore is suppose to be out around 100 to 150 feet. Is this true?

Water Level

It is definitely lower than summer levels but I think it is pretty close to normal for this time of year.

ICE

LOVE THE ICE PICTURES. THANKS FOR SHARING.

Thanks

Thanks for the pics.I visit this site often.I fish the lake about 6to8 weeks a year.I live in Lebanon,Pa.

Direction of cam

The question is simply: What direction is the camera shooting towards?
South, southeast, southwest???? thank you ...
looking good up there, might have to rush home from florida to put the dock in!!!
Never, the rule of thumb = In on Memorial Day, Out on Labor Day

Direction of cam

Had to get my dive console out for this one; its compass says almost exactly SW. Shooting for late April or early May for my dock this year.

Looks like you are getting

Looks like you are getting your dock started today.

Dock

One-third done. 65 degrees and calm, I couldn't resist.

Oneida Lake Love Affair

I inherited my love of Onedia Lake from my father who enabled my mom, sister and I many wonderful weekends, summers and finally year-around living. From a boat on a trailer to a cabin and finally a retirement home, Oneida Lake was as natural to us as home.  Location: we had property on Shaw Rd. just beyond Toad Harbor Lodge on the dirt road deadend at Poddygut Bay.  I haven't been there in years.  Live in Philly.  But would love to take a long ride up there to behold the inevitable changes I'm sure have occured.  Broke my heart that we couldn't hang on to the family house but it wasnt to be.  I love checking the cam... it absolutely could be from the front of that house on that dirt road beyond Shaw Rd.

"Toad Harbor Lodge"

I was wondering if anyone had a photo of "Toad Harbor Lodge"   on the North Shore of Oneida Lake  Onondaga Co, NY.  It was owned and operated by Eva and Irving  Schopfer, West Monre.  Would love a  little history of the place.

Ah yes, good old West Monroe

Before we left for North Carolina in '74, we lived a mile or two above the town garage on Co. Rte 11, between Northway TP and Gerisch Well Drilling. We were good friends with the folks who owned the Red and White store at the corner on Rte. 49.  Toad Harbor Lodge was one of our favorite eating places.  Would anyone know if it's still in business?  I enjoyed fishing for walleyes and bullheads in the Toad Harbor area.

WELCOME COMMITTEE

GOOD MORNING TO HONEYBUN, CHERYL, AND BOUWIE 2, AND WHO ELSE IS PEEKING COME JOIN THE COMMENT SECTION.
DON'T YOU JUST LOVE ONEIDA LAKE? SO MANY STORIES OVER THE YEARS ABOUT THIS BEAUTIFUL LAKE. HOW I ALWAY WANTED A HOME ON THE LAKE. JUST TOO MANY DOLLARS EVEN WAY BACK AS A YOUNG PERSON. I LEARNED HOW TO SKI ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE LAKE [LAKEPORT] BUT ALWAYS WANTED TO LIVE ON THE NORTH SIDE. GO FIGURE. MY MOM FISHED THE LAKE 100S OF HOURS AND SHE COULDN'T SWIM A STROKE.
I'M SO THANKFUL FOR THE FOLK WHO RUN THIS CAM BECAUSE IT GIVES ME HOURS OF ENJOYMENT CHECKING IN EVERYDAY TO SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING. SO LETS ALWAYS SAY THANKS.
BOUWIE WHERE IS DRIVE 15? NEVER HEARD OF IT. WHAT CITY? WE'RE ON THE WEST SIDE OF FLORIDA. BUT ALWAYS WANTED TO GO HOME TO NY.. IT WON'T EVER HAPPEN EXCEPT WHEN WE DIE.
I TYPE IN LARGE PRINT SO I CAN SEE WHAT I'M TYPING. YUP. OLD EYES. LOL

GRANNY FROM FLORIDA

drive 15

Drive 15 is approximately 3/4 mile east of Godfrey Point, where the state boat launch is located; it is a private drive with 4 houses on the lake front and wood on the left.

Is it easy to do?

We love your site and visit daily; we live on drive 15 and would love to put up a camera like yours for our 6 month hiatus in Florida.. is it hard to set up? thank you very much...
Tim

Beautiful Day

What a beautiful view today - love checking every day to see what we are missing not being there. Can't wait for spring to come back to the lake to enjoy.

Wish I Was There!

Greetings From Sunny South Louisiana! Stopping by to say HELLO & tell you how much I APPRECIATE your wonderful snowcams! For those of us that might get lucky and get a bit of snow every 10 years, I can "pretend" I'm enjoying it with you. Thank you for giving us this wonderful opportunity to enjoy what WINTER really means!
